Chain collaboration - more efficient with ETIM and DICO

News from the field

Ketenstandaard Bouw en Techniek is an independent foundation that contributes in a real way to making construction and installation programmes more efficient and more sustainable.

Ketenstandaard administrates and develops ETIM and DICO, for example, standards that are not only widely used in the construction and technique sectors but are also suitable for the maritime sector. A number of major shipbuilders and suppliers to the maritime sector are already participants in Ketenstandaard and making use of those standards.

Neutral standards, for the maritime sector too

Neutral standards ETIM and DICO meet the latest legislation and regulations and are accessed for the user from a single counter . ETIM is used to classify products and record technical features. That leads to more efficient management of product data and a reduction in failure costs. With the DICO Standard, businesses can exchange information fast, flawlessly and securely, e.g. through the 2BA product data pool.

Ketenstandaard is also committed to international affiliation of these standards. In the maritime industry, where projects are often characterised by complex collaborations between many national and international stakeholders, ETIM and DICO can be especially valuable..

Chain collaboration - more efficient with ETIM and DICO

Faster, and lower costs

Standardisation of product and transaction data through ETIM and DICO helps improve efficiency in the collaboration between chain partners which in turn cuts costs. Not only that but using these standards can accelerate the digital transformation in the sector through connection to advanced technologies such as BIM (Building Information Modeling), IoT (Internet of Things) and AI (Artificial Intelligence) for better data analysis and decision-making.
